Each water jet nozzle contains an opening which water goes through. Different opens are available that cut different material thicknesses. Larger openings, known also as jewels, are used to cut harder materials, where smaller jewels are use for lighter materials. Multiple water jet cutting heads can be used with smaller jewels.
